Ms. Yolanda Gutierrez (Sullivan)
My name is Ms. Gutierrez. I am very excited to be one of your child’s teachers at Park Avenue Elementary School! I am 31 years old and have lived in New England my whole life. I have a little girl named Zoey who will be turning 4 years old very soon. I have over ten years of experience working with children through babysitting, co-teaching in fourth grade and preschool classrooms, substituting in the public schools and working with DCF (Department of Children and Families) children. This year will be my second year teaching kindergarten! I have a degree in Criminal Justice from Quinsigamond Community College and a degree from Worcester State University with a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and Sociology. I am currently taking courses towards a Masters degree to become a Reading Specialist.
This is my first year here at Park Avenue Elementary School and I look forward to working with your children throughout the school year. This year, I will be working alongside other kindergarten teachers to plan and prepare lessons to teach your child and provide academic advancement in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, History, Reading Fluency and so much more. I am so excited to join the PAE team, and I am so happy to be a part of you and your child’s lives!
My Philosophy: I believe all children have the ability to learn and use their knowledge to make a huge impact in our world. As and educator, I believe it is my responsibility to help all children use their creative minds, to improve their potential by believing in them as capable individuals. I will be providing ample opportunity for students to explore math, reading, science and social studies to better understand the world around them. I am a committed teacher and hope my students commit to being lifelong learners.
