    Dear Room 103 Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to one of the most incredible years your child will have in his/her school career! I hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one, and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling.
So much happens in Preschool! Because of this, parents as well as children may have some apprehensions about what will happen. It is extremely important to keep in mind that we build on small successes. Each child will progress at his or her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in our classroom. My goal is to help your child grow socially, physically, emotionally, as well as mentally.

    An apple for the teacher…
    It’s really nothing new.
    Except when you remember,
    Parents are teachers too!

Here are some ways that you can    help:

Check and empty your child’s folder EVERY night. Check for notes, newsletters and also look at their work. Please send me letters if you have any questions/concerns at all.

Read to and with your child everyday even if it is not a book, read signs while driving in the car etc. The more your child is exposed to language the easier it will be for him/her to incorporate new skills in reading and writing in our classroom.
Help your child recognize and write their name

My instructional assistant is Mrs. Flibbert. We are very lucky to have her in our classroom. She will be in our class everyday to help the students and myself.

I am so excited to get to know both your child and you!!! I am always available to meet or speak with you. If the matter is urgent please call the school or e-mail me (mspicer@webster-schools.org). If the matter is not urgent, send a note in your child’s folder or send a message through Class Dojo and I will be happy to respond.

Please know that as you send your child off to school everyday, they are entering a warm and welcoming classroom community with a teacher who cares about each and every student. Your child’s well-being and educational success are my number one priorities. I hope that you will not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a great year.

                                                                                                                Sincerely,
                                                                                                                      Ms. Spicer
