Ceramics II is an intensive studio course that continues to build upon hand-building skills developed in Ceramics I. The course will also have a strong focus on creating functional pots using the pottery wheel. Students will use high-fired stoneware glazes and take part in a raku firing.
From ancient to modern, the science and history of clay will be discussed throughout the course with students researching trends in the ceramic arts. Assessment is based upon studio performance, projects, quizzes, tests, exams, and written/oral presentations.
