A.C.E. Program

(Activity Clubs for Enrichment)

An After School

Club Based

Enrichment Program for

Middle Grade Students

The A.C.E. Program is...

A program that provides students from varying grade levels and backgrounds the opportunity to join together and make new friends in an atmosphere that promotes acceptance, learning enrichment and camaraderie.

Why offer after school clubs to students at Webster Middle School?

Children in the middle grades are the most vulnerable to feelings of social isolation.  Even with the support of character education programming and the guidance provided by caring parents, teachers and school staff on a daily basis, it is difficult for middle-grade children to establish friendships when they feel that they are not supported by their peers.  It is our hope that by providing these opportunities for positive social interaction through mutual interest, our students will be empowered to form affirmative, healthy friendships with those like-minded students who share the connection of common interests.

Examples of ACE Clubs Offerings:

Drama Club

Have fun exploring acting techniques!  Learn skills such as stage directions, movement, character development and improvisation through fun games.  We will even put on a skit!

Wild Weavers Club

Students will make cool woven products to take home.  Start by “weaving” a bowl for candy or trinkets. Learn how to use a real 2-pedal floor loom to make a one-of-a-kind wall hanging or small bag!

Flag and Rifle Starters Club

Let experts show you how to hold and spin parade rifles and flags!  Great way to get basic skills and have fun at the same time

Pep Squad Club

Have some fun and get some exercise learning how to cheer! Students will learn cheers, cheer dancing and beginning stunting with a Bartlett cheerleader (under direct adult supervision).  Please wear shorts, a tee-shirt and sneakers.

Walkers Club

Grab your socks and sneakers and get ready to walk in the Spring sunshine (or indoors, if it rains)!  Fitness and fun are the goals of this club – get fit for summer!

Mad  Scientists’ Club

Use Math and Science skills as you cook, invent, and build things – stretch your imagination with this hands-on club!

School Newspaper Club

Enrich writing skills as you become a “reporter” for the school newspaper!  Students will work on writing and publishing skills as they plan and publish a school newspaper!
